The Minecraft Languages
Masterlist

A brief compilation of languages that can be found in Minecraft & it's subsequent planes, along with translators (if applicable) & headcanons.

Script

The current "standard" language, also referred to as English.Deviations may occur, such as dialects, but the basics tend to remain the same.

Galactic | Gᔑꖎᔑᓵℸ ̣ ╎ᓵ

The oldest language currently known across all servers. It is the root language for Script and is often considered a dead language. It is mostly used for archival and formal reasons such as seals and stamps. Other uses include enchantment tables.Measurements of time such as clicks and toks, along with measurement of days such as Moonsday and Sunsday all come from the Galactic system (now considered archaic.)

Khorsh | 𐎪𐎧𐎮𐎱𐎽𐎧

The main language of the Nether. It is spoken mostly by piglins, although dialects may change from tribe to tribe. It is a non-tonal language, with the subject or object of a sentence not being stated if it is obvious from context. This leads to brevity and bluntness in statements once translated into Script.Sounder hierarchies also tend to affect sentence structure, with older piglins referring to younger members of the sounder with titles such as "shote".

Enderwrit | ⟒⋏⎅⟒⍀⍙⍀⟟⏁

The main language of the End. Assumed to be a branch-off from Galactic.Although tonal in nature, it is non-phonetic.Endwrit seems to utilize simple phrases that can be communicated with fewer syllables than they are written with. The reasons for this are unknown.

Talon

A non-written language spoken primarily by avians and raptoris. Highly tonal in nature.Other moblins and hybrids do not posses the vocal chords required to produce the sounds that make up Talon as a spoken language.Sounds such as trills, flock calls and chirps make up a majority of communication, ranging from simple greetings to complex sentence structures by combining different sounds and tones.

Luminara

Used by the ethereal Celestials, the language uses soft and melodic sounds. There is an extensive use of participles and noun to reflect relationships between celestials and their environment. The language's characters are graceful in nature and reminiscent of constellations. It's probable that the root of the language is Galactic, due to sharing similarities with Script.
